EMERSON, Georgia – Select Events hosted the LIVE! at LakePoint event during the NCAA Live Period. This event brought together many of the top programs from the Southeast across several circuit affiliations. The top-tier competition allowed for a good measuring stick for players and for the college coaches evaluating from the baseline. Below are seven 2027 prospects who stood out in our notes.

Sidney Butera – WV Thunder UAA KY – 2027

Butera is a highly caffeinated lead guard capable of running the offense or finding scoring opportunities for herself. Her modest height, 5-foot-4, might be a deterrent for some college coaches. For those doubters, they should pay attention to her production and trust the eye test. The West Virginia Thunder program director, Scott Johnson, has had success in developing so-called undersized point guards. Most notably, Taryn McCutcheon who went on to start every game she played (128) in her four years at Michigan State. She reported an offer from Coastal Carolina on her social media page following the event.

Devin Furgess – Legacy Girlz Guilford LP32 – 2027

Keeping in the same theme of smaller guards, Furgess is another impactful guard from the event. She is a steady handler who will moderate the pace of play appropriately for her team. She is also a good shooter from the perimeter. There is no shortage of people who would like to detract from players like Furgess because of her listed size of 5-foot-3. However, her game speaks for itself and the success that Legacy is having this spring is in large part due to the play of the New Manchester High School product.

Lillie Graves – WV Thunder UAA KY – 2027

Graves is one of the most intriguing prospects to emerge from our notes from the weekend. She is a 6-foot-1 wing who is capable of scoring off the move. Her willingness to be active when she does not have the ball in the offensive set keeps defenders from being able to focus on the ball while in help-side defense. She hit a 3-pointer in this evaluation which gives her an added dimension to her game that will continue to be developed. But as it stands, she presents herself as a versatile all-around prospect who can impact the game both along the frontline and on the perimeter.

Erynn Moffett – Central Florida Elite 3SSB – 2027

Moffett had a solid Saturday. She scored double digits in both games we watched. She is a 6-foot wing with a great frame and footwork. We took note of her game previously when we saw her at Session 1 of the 3SSB in Texas. At Lake Point, however, she found more consistency and confidence. She was attacking gaps with the dribble and flashing the production that we had hoped to see previously. The upside of Moffett’s game is that she will be able to defend multiple positions while also being a well-rounded offensive threat in transition and in the half-court set.

Saniyah Murray – Mississippi All-In LP32 – 2027

Murray is a consensus top 25 prospect nationally. Her size (6-foot-4), mobility, and ball skill make her a unique prospect. She patrolled both ends of the floor as both a shot blocker and a paint finisher. What sets Murray apart from other prospects her size is her ability to face up and attack with the dribble from the high post. She possesses the footwork and agility to work through traffic and score with skill. Her team also did a good job of featuring her as a moving target in their half-court sets, which makes the opposing defenders’ job very difficult.

Jessie Moses – Southeast All-Stars – 2027

The 5-foot-9 guard from IMG Academy made an instant impact for the Southeast All-Stars last weekend. In the modern game she is a perfect fit. She has a skill set that allows her to be a director of action from the top of the key. We noted her vision as a passer in this setting. However, Moses could be paired with other handling guards and mesh into a flow offense as a wing scorer. Her shooting from the perimeter will give her instant value at the collegiate level. She is a top 50 prospect nationally even after suffering a knee injury recently. Now that she has recovered entirely, do not be surprised to see her climb the rankings this summer.

Jordan Speller – FBC United UAA – 2027

Speller is a favorite prospect of ours to watch. She plays the game with speed and tempo that is matched by few at this level. Even though she plays the game at high speeds, it is rare that you will see Speller make unforced errors. She attacks the lane well, which causes the defense to bend to her attack, which opens assist opportunities for her. When the defense stays at home on her lane attacks, she is consistent at finishing at the mouth of the rim. She is a top 40 prospect nationally and ought to earn recruiting attention that matches that ranking this summer.
