GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Adrian Penland Fall Workout brought together some of the best talent in North Georgia to compete on a weekend before the High School season kicked off. In hopes of giving players in the area the most amount of exposure possible, evaluators from the OTRHoopsReport.com were on hand to document the action. Here is the second look at the standouts from the October workout.

Ty Cockfield – (Gainesville, Ga.) – Johnson HS – 2015

Ty Cockfield Head ShotThe fastest guard in the gym undoubtedly was Cockfield. The 6-foot guard can go zero to 100 real quick. He had his whole squad on his shoulders as he zoomed end to end to score time again. After watching the senior again this fall, he certainly places himself as the  best guard that opponents in region 8-AAAA will face this year.

Kyvon Davenport – (Gainesville, Ga.) – East Hall HS – 2015

Kyvon-Davenport-HeadshotDavenport’s athleticism is evident anytime he steps into the gym. The 6-7 power forward uses his length and explosiveness to affect the game on both end of the floor. He had the dunk of the day as he leaped for a missed jumper and threw down a one-handed tip dunk that surprised everyone in the gym. He will anchor coach Joe Dix’s team in the middle with rebounding and scoring in the paint.

Jack Howard – (Dahlonega, Ga.) – Lumpkin County HS – 2016

Jack HowardOne of the pleasant surprises of the workout was the 6-3 wing from North Georgia. A natural shooter, Howard knocked down multiple jumpers in transition from beyond the arc. However, the lanky perimeter guard showed craftiness with his handling and found ways to score in the lane versus defenders. We will be tracking the development of Howard as he enters his junior year playing for Indians in 7-AAA.
