Laney continues hot streak in Nike BMASP Holiday Hoop Classic

Lilburn, Ga. – In Tuesday’s championship game of the Nike BMASP Holiday Hoop Classic, the host team Berkmar was matched up against Laney High School. Laney led the majority of the game. After three quarters, they went up by at least 10 points. In the fourth quarter, sophomore guard Al Durham rallied Berkmar back within 7 points scoring 13 of his game-high 18 points. Down the stretch, Laney senior guard Jashawn Brooks sealed the game by knocking down a pair of free throws. Brooks was named tournament MVP as he finished with 17 points.

Athens Christian runs away with Championship

Snellville, Ga.- Athens Christian won the Deep South Classic. Georgia signee Will Jackson recorded a double-double with 20 points and 11 assists while taking home MVP honors. The undefeated Eagles beat Woodward Academy 71-40 in the Championship game. Senior forward Demetrius McWhorter added 18 points and 12 rebounds while Chris Tate chipped in with 16 points.
