Vanderbilt Scores 3rd ELITE 100 Prospect

This afternoon the Commodores picked up a commitment from 6-foot-9 forward Samir Sehic of Katy, Texas. Sehic, ranked No. 62 nationally, gives coach Kevin Stallings his third verbal commitment this fall. Sehic joins No. 45 Joseph Toye of Chicago, Ill., and No. 76 Djery Baptiste of McKinney, Texas. Vanderbilt now completes their front line recruitment with Sehic who is a blue collar power forward. Toye at 6-7 is an athletic “tweener” who can face the basket while being a tremendous rebounder as well. Baptiste who stands at 6-11 is just beginning to tap into his potential as back to the basket presence.

Arizona Picks up 4th Commitment

No. 40 Chance Comanche of Los Angeles, Calif., committed to Sean Miller and Arizona last week. The 4-star, 6-11 center joins 5-star prospects such as Allonzo Trier of Seattle, Wash., Justin Simon of Temecula, Calif. and Ray Smith of Las Vegas, Nev.

Shooters Make their Choice

A pair of shooters came off the board within the past week. No. 71 Rex Pflueger of San Juan Capistrano, Calif, gave his verbal commitment to coach Mike Bray and the Notre Dame Irish. Whereas No. 100 Mickey Mitchell of Plano, Texas, re-committed to Ohio State after briefly changing his mind.

Versatile Forwards off the Board

Players who have a number of tools are always in high demand at the next level. Coach Tom Crean will tap into the services of No. 68 Juwan Morgan of Waynesville, MoMorgan is a hybrid forward that puts us in the mind of Florida State freshman, Phil Cofer of Fayetteville, Ga. No. 77 Esa Ahmad of Shaker Heights, Ohio, is an interesting prospect. At 6-8 he prefers to distribute and play the role of a handler. He gave his verbal to West Virginia this week. Trevor Manuel of Lansing, Mich., committed to Oregon over this weekend. Ranked No. 99, the 6-9 forward provides length and athleticism in the lane.

Regional Talent to Make a National Impact

Forward Trae Scott of Darien, Ga., gave his verbal commitment to Cincinnati early this week.  A 4-star prospect per OTRHoopsReport.com, he will bring athleticism and mismatch possibilities to Mick Cronin’s program. Fletcher Magee of Orlando, Fla., recently committed to Wofford. The 6-4 shooting guard is a 3-star prospect and should be a shooting specialist for the Terriers.
