#OTRHoopsReport: Player Spotlight-Aug. 19, 2014

Marquez Callaway was named to the MaxPreps 2013-14 Boys Basketball Sophomore All-American Team Honorable Mention

High School: Warner Robins, Georgia

Interest: UGA, Auburn, Ole Miss, FAU, Clemson

Marquez Callaway began July as a national unknown and decided to use our On the Radar Hoops Elite 32 as a springboard for a stellar July. Suiting up for the Atlanta Xpress 16U playing 17U he turned in a few 20+ games at the Elite 32. He would go on to have a 30 point outburst when matched up against of the top shooting guards in attendance. Callaway has shown that he is an elite level three point shooter and driver finishing well through contact.

It’s rare that a highly productive, athletic, and high motor 6’4 Combo Guard goes unnoticed but it’s not Callaway’s fault. This past high school season he lead his team to a 28-3 record and Class 4A state title game. Throughout the season Callaway had multiple 30 point games averaging 19PPG. Callaway may have had the hardest route to the title game in the state having faced Jakeenan Gant, Phil Cofer, Tyree Crump, and Alterique Gilbert. Marquez Callaway is bound to have a breakout season this year.
