Player Spotlight: Corey Sanders (Lakeland, Fla.), – 2015
There is not depth at the lead guard position in the class of 2015, but Showtime Ballers point guard Corey Sanders is showing why he should be mentioned at the top of the list. His performance at the Nike Memorial Day Classic put him in the discussion as one of the elite guards in the nation.
Sanders has a strong frame to go along with off the chart athleticism. He has that highly coveted 2nd gear that many want in a point guard as he gets to the rim off the dribble at a frequent rate. He has a very slick handle and he changes speeds very well. In the half court set, he can penetrate and kick where he does a good job of accelerating to get deep into the lane. He is an excellent ball handler and a heads up passer that makes the simple play to get the ball to open teammates
Sanders has continued to improve his game over the past year catching the attention of many of the top programs around the country. Look for him to be among the nation’s elite point guards after this summer.
