Isaiah Wilkins of Lilburn, Ga., committed to the University of Virginia in early September. A class of 2014 forward prospect, Wilkins will team up with former Greater Atlanta Christian HS teammate Malcolm Brogdon who is a sophomore on the UVA roster. Wilkins consistent and continued development makes him a potential steal for the ACC program. In a matchup with fellow senior classmate Tim Rowe of Berkmar HS, we were able to get a quality look at Wilkins against a similar size prospect.
Nov. 12, 2013 Prospect Evaluation versus Berkmar HS:
Wilkins activity level is his calling card and specific specialty. The 6-foot-7 forward brings an innate ability to make plays around the rim. We project that he’ll serve as a fourth ball handler on the offensive end. His skill set allows him to score the basketball facing the basket, off of offensive putbacks or also running the floor to finish in transition. Defensively, Wilkins is a legitimate option to help clean the glass on the interior. Despite his slender frame, he played a bigger Rowe tough in the lane grabbing every rebound that came his way. We expect more of the same during his career in Charlottesville.
