Jalen Brunson – (Lincolnshire, Ill.), – Adlai E. Stevenson HS – 2015
Height: 6’1″
Position: Point Guard
Committed College: Villanova
Date: October 5, 2014
Evaluator: Jonathan Hemingway
Location: USA Basketball Developmental Mini-Camp (Colorado Springs, Colo.)
Brunson exhibited his experience as one of the best leaders at the camp. He embraced the role of a vocal leader both in games and in drills as he often instructed younger players where to be. As a point guard, Brunson ran his teams with patience and made the right play often by making the extra pass. Although Brunson was not the most athletic player in this setting, he has an advanced understanding of spacing and pace which allows him to beat defenders with the ball in his hands. The crafty, left handed guard projects to be a contributor on day one when he steps onto campus for coach Jay Wright.

Brunson is the consummate quarterback on the floor. His athleticism and skill levels are all enhanced by his willingness to play hard at all times. He reminds me of Tyus Jones (MN-14) in that regard. Brunson is a crafty, left-handed option at the point guard position who is a specialist at attacking the lane to create teammates. His vocal presence should be a huge asset at the next level. Think Jai Lucas in that area.
