Recruiting Rundown: Will Jackson

Class of 2015 point guard Will Jackson of Athens, Ga., will attend Kansas “Late Night in the Phog” on Friday evening. The Jayhawks are fresh off of a consensus top two 2013 recruiting class nationally. Assistant coach Norm Roberts has been the lead on Jackson who has established himself as one of the top lead guards in the country. A minor knee procedure kept the four-star prospect off of the scene in July but Scout.com still lists the 6-foot-4 point as the No. 48 prospect nationally. Kansas tapped into the Peach State in the 2013 class picking up sharp-shooting wing Brannen Greene of Tifton, Ga. Like Greene, OTRHoopsReport.com Publisher Shun Williams made the call on Jackson’s talent early inviting Jackson to the Fall Showcase in 2011. It’s been a busy fall for Jackson as Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Vanderbilt have all been in contact with the junior.

USA Basketball Camp Updates

We posted a USA Basketball Mini-Camp Preview earlier in the week. We will be on hand with coverage from the camp this weekend . There have been a couple of modifications to the roster as Myles Turner of Euless, Texas will now be on hand and for good reason. The 7-foot post player is ranked No. 2 overall in the class of 2014 by Scout.com. He will not be eligible for the U17 Trials next spring but will be a potential candidate for the Nike Hoop Summit team as well as the U18 FIBA Americas entry next summer. In gaining Turner, the roster lost class of 2016 forward Edrice Adebayo of Pinetown, N.C. The 6-8 four-star forward will not be making the trip to Colorado Springs after initially being listed on the group of elite prospects taking part in the two-day mini camp.
