#OTRHoopsReport: What We Learned – Allen & Terrell – Jan. 24, 2014
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Based in Jacksonville, Providence High School brought an in-state contender to the City of Palms Classic. In a matchup with nationally ranked Whitney Young High out of Chicago, Ill., Providence gave the Dolphins everything that they could handle in large part due to the play of two seniors – Grayson Allen and Christian Terrell.

Grayson Allen (Jacksonville, Fla.) – Providence – 2014
A 6-foot-4 shooting guard, Allen can really let it fly. The four-star plus guard has already signed with Duke in the early signing period and will bring the Blue Devils a solid scoring option on the perimeter. He shoots it off of the catch or off the bounce as well with range to 24 feet. He’s strong with a build similar to NBA starter J.J. Redick at this age. One aspect of Allen’s game that has become evident over the past six months is his ability to make plays with his athleticism in the open floor as he did at the City of Palms Classic.

Christian Terrell (Jacksonville, Fla.) – Providence – 2014
Terrell is a skilled guard and a good athlete at the same time. The 6-3 left-handed lead guard will attack the lane off of the bounce to make a play. A Florida Gulf Coast signee, Terrell can score it from beyond the arc and is a solid free throw shooter. He shot it well throughout the course of the City of Palms Classic winning the 3-point contest in the process.
