Dayton, OH. – Flyin to the Hoop has established itself as the nation’s most prestigious tournament on an annual basis. The 13th edition of the event was no different, here are two points we walked away with:

1. DeAndre Ayton is a special talent

Ayton has been tabbed as one of the top players in the class of 2017. This 6-foot-10 post player from Southern California is explosive around the basket where he dunks off passes created by guard penetration. He displayed the ability to score inside-out showing that he is capable at playing with his back to the basket or facing up. Ayton can shoot the jump hook or turn around in the post with either hand as he elevates over defenders with ease. Defensively, he is a game changer with his ability to alter shots due to his unreal wingspan and quick instincts. He is a high level rebounder that gets a hand on every ball off the glass.

2.Weekend Stock Risers

Available guard JoJo Anderson from 22ft Academy in South Carolina had an impressive showing Saturday afternoon scoring 27 points. Anderson is a competitive lead guard that can score in bunches. He is a scoring mentality that pushes the ball in transition. He has good speed and quickness with the ability to get to the rim at will. He also has a high basketball I.Q. to drop off a pass to a cutting teammate. Anderson’s teammates Sedee Keita has very good size and has an excellent basketball body. He runs the floor well and he finishes at the rim as well as anyone. He has continued to improve his offensive skill set as he showed the ability to score facing the basket. The bottom line here is that Keita will draw the attention of many power conference schools this summer.
