Class of 2015 forward Jaylen Brown powered Wheeler past Miller Grove in the final game of the Nike Explosion.
MARIETTA, Ga. – The Nike Explosion was held this weekend at Wheeler High School. This is a must see event each year that features some of the top programs in the Southeast. Here are a few of the top performers from the fourth annual Nike Explosion.

Alterique Gilbert – Miller Grove (GA) – 2016
The 5-foot-11 lead guard has played as well as any player in the state of Georgia so far this year. One of the most impressive parts of Gilbert’s game is his ability to knock down the three-pointer. Given time and space Gilbert has been automatic from behind the arc.
Jaylen Brown – Wheeler (GA) – 2015
Brown continues to demonstrate why he is one of the most talented players in the state of Georgia and maybe in the entire country. He is a gifted scorer that can score in a variety of ways. His first step is picture perfect as he gets a long, low, quick first step that gets his head and shoulders past the defense. Brown finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds in this match-up versus Miller Grove.
Justin Coleman – Wenonah (AL) – 2014
The Alabama signee is regarded as one of the better lead guards in the Southeast and he did not disappoint on Saturday night. Coleman’s team was down by double digits early against Norcross before the 5-8 guard took the game into his own hands. Wenonah came away with the victory behind a 42 point performance from Coleman.
Ricky Madison – Norcross (GA) – 2015
Madison can be classified as a ‘stretch’ 4-player. He possesses good length and size for his position. He played primarily in the high post here on the offensive end. He showed some ball skill to be able to reverse the ball on the perimeter and the ability to knock down open shots. This 6-7 forward has been playing well for Norcross and we expect him to have a big year.
