Southern Durham capped off an impressive 28–3 season with a 54–47 win over Mooresville in a physical, back-and-forth 7A state championship matchup. Mooresville came out sharp early, setting the tone with energy on both ends and knocking down perimeter shots to take an early lead.

The first half remained tight, with both teams trading baskets and defensive stops. Mooresville’s guard play and interior presence kept them in control for stretches, while Southern Durham leaned on composure and execution to stay within striking distance heading into the break.
