OTR Hoops: 2026 Midseason Stock Risers in Florida (Part2)

We have reached the midway point of the 2025-2026 high school basketball season across the state of Florida. Here are some of the top stock risers in this year’s senior class.

Ja’kylen Crossley - Bartow - 2026:  The 6-foot-4 shooting guard can be a consistent scoring threat when he has the basketball in his hands. He can also create driving lanes for his teammates as well as create energy on the defensive end. During their three-game run at Battle in The Villages, Crossley averaged 21.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game, where the Yellow Jackets finished the event with a 3-0 record and took home the All-Tournament MVP honors. Expect a big second half of the season for Crossley, where he could carry his team for a deep playoff run.

Dylan Foster - Edgewater - 2026: The 6-foot-3 point guard and Cleveland State signee has emerged this season as the lead ball-handler. Foster plays with a ton of speed and has a tight handle when it comes to running the floor, whether it’s in transition or in the half-court offense. His ability to shoot from the perimeter at a high level off the bounce is what separates him from other guards in the class. As he adds more muscle to his frame, he could make an immediate impact at the next level, where he could be finishing at the front of the rim with either hand. Expect a big second half of the season for Foster and the Eagles as they could make a deep postseason run.

Asa Kohn - Hagerty - 2026:  The 6-foot-4 shooting guard and University of North Florida signee is a lethal shooter who can knock down from anywhere within the half-court off the catch as well as the bounce. Kohn can create separation from the defense with his quick release, as well as having the speed to get to the front of the rim, where he can finish with contact. On defense, he is very versatile, as he can guard positions 1 through 3, where he utilizes his length to create mismatches for opposing guards, whether it’s in the paint or out on the perimeter. Look for Kohn to have a strong second half to the season, where he is poised to make an immediate impact at the next level.

Owen McLaughlin - New Smyrna Beach - 2026: The 6-foot-7 small forward has one of the cleanest shooting strokes you will find in the state of Florida. McLaughlin does a great job when it comes to getting to his spots in the open court, whether it’s in the half-court or in transition. He also brings a unique blend of athleticism, where he can finish at the front of the rim while being unafraid when it comes to drawing contact. On defense, he plays with a ton of length and mobility, where he can guard out on the perimeter as well as on the interior. He is also an above-average rebounder for his size, where he can push the tempo with his strong ball-handling abilities, which could allow him to be effective at the next level.

Maddox Palmer - Ponte Vedra - 2026: The 6-foot-6 shooting guard and Jacksonville University signee plays with a ton of poise and patience on the offensive end, where he can knock down tough shots off the catch as well as the bounce. He also has the intangibles to be a versatile inside-out scoring threat when he gets to his spots within the half-court. On the defensive end, he can guard multiple positions where his length and athleticism allow him to pressure the passing lanes as well as being an above-average rebounder, getting out in transition.

Jacob Pleyer - The Rock School - 2026: The 6-foot-3 combo guard is the true definition of a playmaker, whether it’s his ability to score on all three levels or getting his teammates involved on the offensive end. Defensively, he is a hard worker, whether it’s guarding the passing lanes, rebounding, or altering shots at the front of the rim. He plays above-average defense when guarding the ball as well, where his length and athleticism make it difficult for opposing guards to get off a solid shot. His high-IQ and winning mindset on both ends of the floor could make an immediate impact at the next level.

Kyler Theophile - Coral Glades - Kennesaw State Commit:  The 6-foot-5 shooting guard and Kennesaw State signee is a two-way player who plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the floor. On offense, he is very active when it comes to playing inside against bigger defenders, as well as having the ability to knock down contested shots in the mid-range. On defense, he is very active on the glass as well as using his athleticism to get into the passing lanes. It will be interesting to see if Theophile can carry his two-way playmaking skills into the second half of the season as well as at the next level.
