On the Radar’s 50+ event travel season officially tipped off with Battleground Session 1 in Cumming, Georgia, showcasing 10U–14U boys basketball teams from across the Southeast. This recap will be presented as a two-part series highlighting standout performers from both Saturday and Sunday.

DJ Bedford | Alabama Fusion | 2030

DJ Bedford proved to be difficult to contain this weekend. A crafty and shifty player, he consistently found gaps in the defense and capitalized quickly. Bedford brings high energy, shows strong court vision, and makes smart, reliable plays for his team.

EJ Crockett | Georgia Stars | 2030

Despite the early 8:00 a.m. Saturday start, Crockett stepped up for his team and delivered. For his age, he boasts a strong, well-built frame and a game that shows promising continued for growth. Crockett excelled at driving downhill and hitting difficult mid-range shots with confidence.

Junior Davis | Team Tookie | 2030

Junior Davis was the driving force behind Team Tookie. They dominated the Georgia Stars for most of the game, holding strong control until late in the second half when their energy started to fade. Davis played a key role in the game; managing the tempo, drawing in defenders, and finding open teammates in the paint. He plays with relentless grit and toughness, never intimidated by the name on the opponent's jersey.

Jakobe Jackson | Alabama Fusion | 2030

Jakobe is a long, wiry wing that can make an impact in multiple areas on the court. Jackson does well scoping out the defense and makes the right move accordingly. High motor prospect who can convert quickly in the open court as well.

Anthony Moreno | Game Elite | 2030

The last time I saw Anthony Moreno, he recorded a triple-double, and today he dropped 30 points in the win. Moreno is the ultimate utility player, doing it all from locking down defenders and diving for loose balls to racking up steals, dishing out assists, and grabbing rebounds. With each game, he continues to expand his skill set. His confidence is well-earned, and he's definitely a player to watch throughout his scholastic career.

Tallen Pinson | Game Elite | 2030

Tallen Pinson has the knack for turning it on in an instant. He’s capable of scoring from beyond the arc, in the mid-range, or attacking the basket. Pinson provided a spark for Game Elite, stepping up and filling in key gaps as his team advanced throughout the day.

Lucca Roppa | Alabama Fusion | 2030

Lucca Roppa is a versatile guard capable of taking over games in multiple ways. Whether running the point or playing off the ball, he consistently finds scoring opportunities. Roppa also showed strength and body control, using his frame effectively to finish tough shots over and around defenders.

Sire Scott | Tier 2 Elite | 2030

Even in Tier II Elite’s blowout win, Scott continued to stand out by staying focused and using the game as a chance to improve. With great size for his age, he demonstrated the ability to play multiple positions, no matter the type of defender he faced. Scott glided up the court, protected the paint, and made defenders pay with his scoring ability.

Braylon Tate | Game Elite | 2031

Despite playing up an age group, Braylon Tate consistently stands out. He has strong, old-school fundamentals in the post, showcasing his ability to seal defenders on the block and make moves based on their positioning. Tate stays active around the basket, creating second-chance opportunities for his team, and he’s also capable of stepping out and knocking down shots from the perimeter with ease.

Remington Williams | Georgia Stars | 2030

Remington Williams has the potential to become a household name if he keeps progressing at this rate. He moves smoothly on both ends of the floor and has flashes of brilliance with standout plays. Williams demonstrated his ability to attack the rim and embrace contact without hesitation. Definitely a prospect to keep an eye on in the coming years.
