ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Memorial Day Classic presents over 150 teams across six age groups, with teams representing Florida and Georgia taking over Central Florida over the course of three days. Here are nine prospects who stood out on Saturday:

Brayner Pagan - Exclusive Hoops NXTPRO - 2029

The 6-foot-9 power forward displayed good size and length around the basket, whether it was finishing off put-backs or patrolling the rim with his rebounding ability. On the offensive end, he also excelled in pick-and-roll situations, where he was able to pop out onto the perimeter as well as displaying a smooth mid-range game off the catch and bounce. On defense, he possessed great versatility, where he blocked shots and limited second-chance scoring opportunities for the opposition in the morning game.

Avery Jones - Austin Rivers SE Elite 3SSB - 2029

The 6-foot-6 freshman guard played an inside-out game where he knocked down shots both off the catch and bounce from the perimeter on the offensive end. He also displayed himself as a playmaker, where he got his teammates involved in the half-court offense, as well as in transition. On defense, he attacked the passing gaps using his length and quickness, where he turned defense into offense with his ability to create turnovers. He also played with elite athleticism, where his burst of speed allowed him to finish at the front of the rim on the break, where he was an overall factor despite the loss in the morning game to Exclusive Hoops.

Sami Atari - Austin Rivers Elite Gold - 2027

The 6-foot junior guard can initiate the offense with his high IQ and ability to get his teammates involved early and often in possession on the offensive end. He made timely reads as well as showcasing a strong presence when he had the basketball in his hands, where he scored on all three levels. On defense, he was active in the passing lanes as well as guarding the ball at a high level. He played with purpose off the ball as well, where he gained a ton of confidence, and he was unafraid when it came to battling on the glass and being effective when being guarded by bigger players. With more confidence in his overall game, he could start to turn the corner as he heads into his senior season.

Roberto Castell - Elite Warriors Basketball - 2028

The 6-foot-6 sophomore wing used his body control, where he used his physical and upper strength when it came to finishing around the rim through contact on several occasions during the afternoon game on Saturday. He was active on the glass, where he finished put-backs as well as playing with his back to the basket in post-up scoring opportunities. On defense, he guarded positions 1 through 3 with his elite footwork and activity when guarding out on the perimeter and utilizing his length to his advantage. He was able to stay engaged when it came to defending the paint with his ability to limit second-chance scoring opportunities. Look for Castell to have a breakout summer as he heads into his junior season.

Noah Jones - Elite Playmakers Smith OTR - 2027

The 6-foot junior guard displayed himself as a perimeter scoring threat on and off the ball, where he can get to his spots on the offensive end. He knocked down timely shots and has proven himself as an efficient decision-maker from the lead guard position. On defense, he brought activity and energy, where he used his burst of speed to his advantage, whether it was covering the passing gaps or cutting off the opposing ball-handlers. He was also active when patrolling the glass, limiting the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities.

Corban Copeland - Austin Rivers SE Elite 3SSB - 2029

The 5-foot-9 freshman guard is a true floor general who plays with poise and patience on the offensive end. He made timely reads to his teammates, where he could find them on the move as well as playing at his own pace. On defense, he brought non-stop activity and energy when guarding the ball, as well as showing his quickness to read the passing lanes. Copeland forced turnovers, which led to scores on the opposite end of the floor, as well as making strong kick-ahead passes where they finished at the rim while being unafraid to finish through contact. Overall, he is a dynamic guard who could be on the verge of making some noise heading into his sophomore season.

Cory McPherson - Sunshine Elite OTR - 2027

The 5-foot-11 point guard put together a good performance against OBG Elite on the Opening Day of the Florida Memorial Day Classic. He showed his quickness with his smooth handle and was in full-attack mode, where he got downhill as well as dishing off some crisp passes to get his teammates involved on the offensive end. McPherson forced defenses to collapse, which opened opportunities for himself to score at will on all three scoring levels. On defense, he was converting in the passing lanes, cutting off passes, and forcing turnovers, which led to scoring opportunities as well. Overall, his downhill scoring ability and forcing the defense into recovery mode have provided a huge spark in the rising senior throughout the spring.

Enzo Fatone - Sunshine Elite OTR - 2027

The 5-foot-10 shooting guard did a great job where he was running the offense coming off the bench, getting to his spots, and showing his lethal scoring ability from the perimeter. He also created paint touches before kicking out to his teammates, as he is a true unselfish guard, where he showed poise as a steady playmaker. On defense, he played with toughness and brought the ability to be effective in the passing lanes, as well as applying pressure when guarding the ball.

Omar Nicholson - PSB Tampa Bay Robinson OTR - 2028

Nicholson showcased his ability, where he can get downhill against most opposing guards with his burst of speed, playing off the ball as well as being the primary ball-handler on the offensive end. He used his strong handle to break down the defense, where he finished above the rim, and he was unafraid when it came to scoring through contact. The 6-foot-2 rising junior guard also had key moments where he played within the flow of the offense, making strong passes to his teammates on the perimeter as well as on kick-outs when attacking the basket. On defense, Nicholson competed around the rim, where he was able to play outside his position and helped push the tempo in transition offense. Overall, Nicholson could be an emerging two-way prospect and a player to watch in the state of Florida for the 2028 class.
