SUWANEE, Ga. — On The Radar and HoopSeen—the two biggest brands in the southeast—combined forces to bring one of travel basketball’s best events to Gwinnett County.
Top independents, elite shoe teams, prospects for quite literally every level of basketball, this event was a loaded one.
Now that the dust has settled, these are some of the names who have stuck with me from my time in the gym:

Gavin Reed - Team Gold Coast - 2027
Reed is building a case as one of the most recruitable guards on the OTR Circuit. He’s impactful on both ends of the ball. Defensively, he’s competitive and applies disruptive pressure on the ball. On offense, he balances distribution and scoring well. He has a good handle with a shifty game to get to his spots. Reed utilizes craft to get himself open for shots as well. Over the weekend, he showed off his three-level scoring ability which he’s been lauded for throughout his career as a prospect. The OTR Circuit has several Division I prospects on it, and Reed is among those on that list.

Jaylen Samuel - Game Elite - 2027
It was a breakout high school season for Samuel with St. Francis. Not many juniors positioned themselves better for the spring than Samuel did. Playing with Game Elite, Samuel will have the platform to continue to show what he can do in high-level atmospheres. A Sunday viewing saw him do what he did best during his winter ascent, hit shots. Samuel is capable of spacing the floor and reliably rattling multiple 3-pointers in a game. That’s not all he can do though. He’s an underrated athlete with good size. He can help out on the glass, or attack closeouts for athletic finishes.

Jordan Wiseman - Sewer South - 2027
Wiseman is no stranger to the OTR stage. He was one of the best players in the OTR Circuit’s 16U division last season. He’s back and playing at a high level. Wiseman is a do-everything guy for Sewer South. He can guard multiple positions, rebound, and make gritty plays. He does the dirty work that doesn’t show up on a box score. However, he can do the other things that videographers make stylized social media posts about. He’s athletic and can play above the rim, and—as was the case on Friday night—Wiseman can hit shots. He opened his weekend by knocking down three to four 3-pointers, give or take. When he combines that with all of the other things he does well, he brings a complete game to the floor.

Tyce Curtis - Game Elite - 2027
With Kevin Savage at the USA Basketball mini-camp in Indianapolis, Tyce Curtis ran the show for Game Elite. Curtis is a downhill guy. He pressured defenses with his assertive pursuit of the paint. Curtis is great at the rim, good at drawing contact. He can finish through bumps and gets to the free-throw line often. That was the case this weekend. Curtis can also be a quality playmaker for others with the attention he commands.

Cam Blackman - HWPO Hoops - 2028
When taking stock of the OTR season to this point, Blackman has got to be in the discussion among the most dynamic guards in the 16U division. He was able to get by his man with speed and a shifty game. He’s shown that on a consistent basis during this early spring. Blackman is a reliable shooter as well. More or less, he’s one of the most potent point producers in the division. Blackman has been a stockriser this early spring.

Elijah Stegall - Hoop Atlanta - 2028
The weekend opened with an impactful performance from Hoop Atlanta’s Elijah Stegall. His production was all effort driven as well. He’s a guard with a high motor and plenty of toughness. He rebounded at a high level and got points off of putbacks. Stegall was a difference maker on defense too. He pressures the ball relentlessly and makes opposing guards uncomfortable. There was a stark difference between when he was in the game as opposed to when he wasn’t because of the energy he brings to the floor. The team’s overall success was driven by Stegall’s effort.

Sean Lopez - Sewer South - 2028
Like Blackman above, Lopez has had some remarkable scoring performances so far this season. Against a talented Game Elite team, Lopez had another one of those kinds of outings. He got hot from three for stretches and showed off deep range on his shot. Lopez is wired to score, and he can do so from all levels.

Shamar Madden - Game Elite - 2028
Madden has a chance to start his ascent as a prospect this spring. He flashed some bright moments with Wheeler during the high school season, but he has a chance to be more of a centerpiece on this Game Elite squad. Madden is a smooth scorer and killer from midrange. He’s efficient with his scoring and doesn’t force the issue. Madden has a maturity and polish about his game that is always refreshing to see in a younger prospect.
