OTR Hoops News: Top 25 recruit commits to Michigan

Lincoln Cosby is the latest commit for Dusty May and the Michigan Wolverines, as he announced his college commitment on Tuesday evening.

Lincoln Cosby, out of Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, announced his commitment to the University of Michigan on Tuesday evening.

Cosby was originally rated as a Top 10 recruit in the Class of 2027 but intends on reclassifying to the 2026 class. He is currently ranked at No. 22 in the Class of 2026, according to multiple recruiting services.

The 6-foot-9 small forward chose the Wolverines over Alabama, Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, among several others throughout his recruitment process. Cosby also held offers from LSU, Memphis, Missouri, Oregon, UNLV, and Wake Forest.

Cosby is the fourth commit in the upcoming recruiting cycle and the second to come from the Sunshine State, joining The Rock School’s Joseph Hartman, who committed to the Wolverines back in October. The other two commitments are Knoxville Catholic three-star small forward Malachi Brown and 7-foot-3 center Marcus Moller, who is from Denmark.

During his only season with Montverde Academy, Cosby excelled in various roles on the court, where he proved to be a matchup nightmare for the opposition. On the offensive end, he can be a pure knockdown shooter off the catch as well as the bounce at a high level. He can also mix in various moves to finish at the rim, scoring over multiple defenders. He possesses a strong skill set, where his size, length, and athleticism can impact the game in various ways.

Before transferring to Montverde Academy, Cosby played on the Overtime Elite circuit with Rod Wave Elite (RWE), where he averaged 15.6 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game, which is where his recruitment started to take notice.

Standing at 6-foot-9, Cosby has a comfortable shooting release in catch-and-shoot opportunities, as well as displaying a strong inside-out presence on the offensive end. His ability to operate multiple positions on both ends of the floor is what stood out throughout his recruitment process.

Cosby could make an immediate impact as a stretch-wing who often at times can play in the post with his length and footwork. His long wingspan, which reaches over seven feet, could spell some immediate floor time as an incoming freshman in Dusty May’s system.
