The No. 49 overall-ranked player in the nation, Martay Barnes, has announced he will be reclassifying to the Class of 2026.
Martay Barnes, A four-star point guard out of Academy of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, has announced he will be reclassifying and graduating in this year’s upcoming class. Barnes has also confirmed with 247Sports’ Travis Branham that he will be taking a visit to Auburn on February 21 for their game against Kentucky and following that with a visit to Florida State on February 24 for their game against rival Miami. In addition to Auburn and Florida State, the 6-foot-2 point guard currently holds offers from Cincinnati, Kansas, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, Ole Miss, TCU, and others.
This season for the Golden Bulls, Barnes is averaging 19.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3.4 steals per game in Grind Session play. He also made a name for himself last season on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit, playing for Austin Rivers SE Elite, where he averaged 14.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 44% from the field and 35% from the three-point line.
Barnes is a skilled guard who shows poise with the basketball in his hands and can initiate offense. He consistently gets his teammates involved, whether it’s off the bounce or the catch. He is seamlessly transitioning into becoming a threat, whether shooting from the perimeter or attacking the basket on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Barnes can affect the game in multiple ways, whether it’s displaying his athleticism in the passing lanes or guarding the ball at a high level.
