MORE FROM OTR

We have reached the end of the 2025-2026 regular season in high school basketball across the Sunshine State. I was able to get out and see some intriguing games this season, as well as watch film on players outside of my coverage area.

Today, we will focus on our junior class, as many players on this list are poised to have breakout spring and summer seasons on the Grassroots circuit.

Jomar Bernard - The Villages Charter

Bernard excels when it comes to transition offense, where he runs the floor exceptionally well for his size. He can also beat defenders off the bounce when it comes to attacking the rim, playing under control, and is unafraid when it comes to finishing through contact. On the defensive end, he does a great job when it comes to disrupting the passing lanes and utilizing his size and strength to his advantage, turning defense into offense. His combination skillset of size, length, and frame allows him to impact the game in a variety of ways.

Beckham Black - Southeastern Preparatory Academy

The 6-foot-3 point guard is the true definition of a floor general, where he displays his true poise and great court vision from the lead guard position. He consistently finds opportunities for his teammates to get involved with his pass-first instincts on the offensive end. Defensively, he is at his best when guarding the ball with his relentless pressure and ability to get steals, leading to scores in transition. His ability to read defenses and make quick decisions on the fly has transitioned Black into being one of the top two-way guards not just in Florida, but arguably in the entire country.

Kyle Blair - The First Academy (Orlando)

Blair’s offensive game has blossomed from his sophomore season to this season. He shows true patience and great body control when it comes to scoring at the front of the rim, as well as showing a ton of confidence when shooting in the mid-range. On the defensive end, Blair’s versatility allows him to guard positions 1 through 4 with his length and elite footwork out on the perimeter. He can also alter shots at the front of the rim as well as challenge shooters in the mid-range. Expect numerous college coaches to throw in interest in the 6-foot-10 power forward this upcoming travel season.

Madden Geiger - Calvary Christian (Clearwater)

Geiger has drawn attention from the national stage this season, where he was a double-double force every time he stepped onto the floor. On the offensive end, he can stretch the floor, whether it’s his ability to finish at the front of the rim or knock down contested shots from the perimeter. He continued to bring his versatile package onto the defensive end, where his length and athleticism allow him to challenge shots across all three levels and get timely rebounds as well. Look for Geiger to have a huge travel season where he is already drawing interest from Power 4 schools.

Javion Tyndale - Montverde Academy

Tyndale can impact the game in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, he can control the game with his poise and patience, finding teammates on the move. He makes strong reads and smart decisions from the lead guard position, where he sets his teammates up, as well as being able to knock down tough jump shots of his own. On the defensive end, he is a pest when it comes to pressuring the passing lanes, forcing turnovers, and creating scoring chances in transition. His athleticism also allows him to be disruptive on the glass, where he battles for rebounds, limiting the opposition from securing second-chance scoring opportunities.

Dominick Walsh - Northside Christian

The 5-foot-11 point guard is the true definition of a tone setter on the offensive end, where he doesn’t necessarily need to score to make an impact. Walsh led his team in assists, averaging nearly five per game to help send his team to the top seed in the regional playoffs. On the defensive end, Walsh creates energy with his ability to jump the passing lanes as well as the ability to create transition scoring opportunities for his teammates. His two-way playmaking skills could draw some attention from coaches as he heads into the travel season on a strong note.
