The Grassroots season is nearing, and we are breaking down some of the top prospects in their respective classes. Today, we are featuring some of the top sophomores in the country for scouts to keep an eye on this travel season.

Truman Bullington - Moravian Prep (North Carolina) - 2028

Bullington is one of the most exciting prospects in this year’s sophomore class in a variety of ways. On offense, he plays with a tremendous motor where he can finish in the interior with his soft touch, as well as grow his confidence into becoming a reliable outside shooter. His blend of size, toughness, length, and athleticism will make Bullington a highly-touted prospect in the Class of 2028. He is a well-balanced rebounder on the defensive end as well as an excellent rim-runner in transition offense. He is a steady two-way player who is already receiving Division-1 offers from Florida International University and Pepperdine, respectively.

Hudson Hatch - Christ School (North Carolina) - 2028

Hatch is a long and mobile prospect with a high motor on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end, he is a capable inside-out scoring threat with a soft touch around the rim, as well as excellent court vision. He is an excellent rebounder who utilizes his size and length to his advantage, enabling him to limit opponents from securing second-chance scoring opportunities. His next step will be to grow into being a stretch-four on the defensive end, where he can guard out on the perimeter. His ceiling is high, allowing him to get a head start in his recruitment.

Ethan Knox - Zephyrhills Christian Academy (Florida) - 2028

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard can make plays happen with and without the basketball in his hands. On offense, he is a utility wing who can play multiple positions, whether it’s using his length or his athleticism playing in the interior or his confidence in becoming a vital perimeter shooter. On the defensive end, he is aggressive when it comes to positioning himself on the glass, limiting the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities. With more confidence in his overall game, expect several college coaches to be calling on Knox. He already holds offers from Florida International, Florida State, Mississippi State, and several others.

CJ Moore - Ridge View (South Carolina) - 2028

Moore brings a ton of upside and growth into the Class of 2028 with his ability to score on multiple levels and defend at a high level. His overall game has grown more comfortable, where he can be effective finishing at the front of the rim over multiple defenders. College coaches and scouts should start getting on Moore’s radar this upcoming travel season. The 6-foot-6 wing could start drawing offers as he has become one of the top two-way players in the Palmetto State.

Bamba Touray - IMG Academy (Florida) - 2028

Touray already carries a strong skillset with his body control, length, physicality, and elite wingspan that is already ahead of his years. He is an excellent rim-runner when it comes to transition offense. He is an excellent finisher when it comes to playing above the rim and shows great timing when it comes to rebounding on both ends of the floor. Touray has a great feel and understanding of the game and has a strong basketball IQ. His next step in his overall game will be to build an outside shot with consistency, as well as operating offense from the perimeter.
