The top-ranked combo guard in the Class of 2026 announced his commitment to John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks on his Senior Night.

The No. 2-overall ranked player, according to numerous recruiting services, is off the board. Jordan Smith, out of Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Virginia, announced he has committed to the University of Arkansas. Smith made the announcement on his Senior Night before their game against St. Mary’s Ryken.

Smith chose the Razorbacks over five finalists that included Duke, Georgetown, Kentucky, Indiana, and Syracuse.

Smith becomes the third commit in this year’s upcoming recruiting cycle for John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorbacks. He is joined by five-star small forward JJ Andrews, out of Little Rock Christian Academy, and four-star small forward Abdou Toure, out of Notre Dame High School in West Haven, Connecticut.

This marks the second consecutive year that Calipari has landed the top-ranked point guard, as he landed Darius Acuff Jr., out of IMG Academy in the Class of 2025.

Smith is a strong point guard who can attack the front of the rim at will, where he can finish around the rim over multiple defenders. With a college-ready frame, Smith is an emerging favorite to be a possible lottery pick in the 2027 National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft.

He has also taken huge strides this season playing the lead guard position, as well as building a consistent jump shot, and is also consistent when shooting from the perimeter.

Smith played last summer on the Nike EYBL Circuit with Team Takeover, which is based in the DMV. He averaged 19.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game on 57.5% shooting from the field, where he helped lead his team to a 16-3 record during circuit play. He was also a part of USA Basketball on the 19U team during the FIBA World Cup, where he averaged 8.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
