The 2027 class is about to be the spotlight of college recruiting in just a few months. Georgia has had several stockrisers who have been playing their best basketball at an advantageous time.

Here are some of the juniors who have been building positive momentum this season:

Tyler Griffin - Star’s Mill: Griffin has been on an absolute tear as a scorer this season. He’s been a bucket for Star’s Mill. He can put points on the board from all over the floor and is as dangerous from audacious range as anyone in Georgia. His shooting opens up the floor for him to be able to get downhill too. Griffin has used this high school season to transform himself from under-the-radar to a name that’ll be getting plenty of preseason attention ahead of the spring.

Asa Montgomery - Hillgrove: There are different scopes when it comes to topics like this. Unknowns making a rise to local commodities. Regional stars moving up national rankings. The latter is where Asa Montgomery slots in. His high school season has seen him earn more national accolades than ever. Deservedly so. He’s been tremendously productive with Hillgrove. Montgomery’s rebounding is what I appreciate about his game the most. He's a high-effort, fundamental rebounder. His offensive versatility is a real weapon as well. Montgomery can play around the basket as a more traditional power forward or he can be a wing type and go out on the perimeter. All of the aforementioned has been what has bumped him up into the top-100 of some of the national rankings services.

Kolton Kaylor - Fannin County: There’s a ton of buzz around the 6-foot-7 wing out of north Georgia. He’s shown incredible flashes of skill and athleticism. Kaylor has shown plenty of tools with shotmaking and above-the-rim finishing that has garnered intrigue on a national level. Kaylor is on the radar now, but he can still ascend even further by continuing to put in work against elite levels of competition.

Lorenzo McCorvey - Walker: McCorvey has been establishing himself as one of the most impactful defenders in Georgia’s 2027 class. He has a plus wingspan and is super competitive. He’s around 6-foot-6 but plays bigger than that. McCorvey is as good of a shotblocker as there is regardless of size. He rebounds well too. McCorvey is an above-the-rim lob threat on offense. He should be a name that attracts plenty of coaches this spring.

Jaylen Samuel - St. Francis: Samuel has been on a shooting tear so far this season. The 6-foot-6 guard/wing has been a marksman from deep. While shooting has been how he’s done most of his damage, he’s shown plenty of athleticism at the rim. Samuel has had a lot of loud games this season that could translate well to a live period setting.
