A tad beyond the midpoint of the high school season, it’s the time of year when everyone in the industry takes a big picture look at their respective beat.
The general review of the landscape, for me at least, starts with a look at who’s on the board. College coaches of all levels will inevitably start reaching out soon to check in on who’s available.
This is an exercise to spotlight some of the notable uncommitted players in Georgia.

Here are some notable available wings and forwards:
Kevin Curtis - Gainesville: It’s all about the upside for Curtis. He has so much untapped potential to unlock. He’s somewhere between 6-foot-10 and 7-foot, and he moves well. His current production is primarily on the defensive end where he can serve as a rim deterrent with his size and length. Curtis’ rim protection bolsters Gainesville’s defense. It’s not easy to find players with the kind of long-term potential that Curtis has. It’s just a matter of continuing his upward trajectory which he can do at the next level.
Sean Hamilton - Cherokee: Hamilton may be the most truly versatile player on this list. He plays with the ball in his hands a lot, but he can play big for Cherokee too. His skill with the ball is continuing to round into form. Hamilton can put it on the floor and create something off the bounce whether in a straight line or with a combo move to shake someone. He can hit a shot from deep too. Like Curtis, he feels like a player who’ll keep getting better when he gets to college.
Luke Lawson - North Oconee: It’s starting to feel like Lawson is one of the more underrated forward prospects in Georgia. He’s had a steady season for North Oconee. In the 6-foot-7 to 6-foot-8 range, Lawson can play both a physical style or a finesse one. He can also play close to the basket or away from it, he rebounds, he plays solid defense. Lawson is just a sound player. His game might not be loud, but he’s consistently productive. North Oconee has a lot of talent, but Lawson shouldn’t go overlooked.
Jayvon Rampersant - Berkmar: When it comes to pure talent, Rampersant might be the best available senior in Georgia. He’s an assertive athlete. Rampersant tries to dunk everything and he does so emphatically. He brings that same mentality to the defensive side of the floor where he uses his athleticism and length well to block or alter shots. He has a good level of skill to his game too that can be further developed at the next level.
Tobiaz Tolbert - Carver-Columbus: Tolbert put on one of the stock rising performances of the high school season that earned him an offer from Kennesaw State. He put up around 40 points and had an armful of rebounds. At around 6-foot-7, he plays a physical and athletic style around the rim on both ends. He’s a walking double-double with his motor and aptitude for rebounding paired with a bruising style of offense. Triple-doubles shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise either as he’s one of the best shot blockers in Georgia.
