OTR Hoops: The skyscrapers of Florida Mayhem

The Celebration Pointe Center in Gainesville, Florida was filled with college talent this weekend. The stars of the frontcourt were the biggest attraction. You won’t find anyone under the height of 6’8 in this article because the giants rolled the court this weekend.

The Celebration Pointe Center in Gainesville, Florida was filled with college talent this weekend. The stars of the frontcourt were the biggest attraction. You won’t find anyone under the height of 6’8 in this article because the giants rolled the court this weekend.

Kaiden Zenkner | Sunshine Elite | 2027

Zenker is a 6’10 big who can knock down the open three. He has a wide frame that could add some good weight over the next few years. He’s strong enough to hold his own in the post and play a little bully ball on the block. For someone his size who gets around the court really well and has the conditioning to keep up with faster paces. The near seven foot can step out to the three point line.

Mapak Majak Machar | 1Family | 2029

Machar is what happens when you give rare physical tools to a guy with a motor. Machar is still slim and needs to add strength but his length and feel for the game around the basket negates that. He’s really active around the rim with a ridiculous standing reach, good hands, and a nose for the offensive boards. Incredibly coordinated for his age and size. Will be a game changer at higher levels as he adds strength.

Nnamdi Ezekwudo | Hope Grind | 2027

Ezekwudo is a 6’11 forward who flashed his ball skills in transition. At his size he’s a smooth mover who can get off the ground quickly. Ezekwudo has a record of hitting shots outside the paint when he’s open. Between his mobility, length, frame, and raw skillset Ezekwudo is a sleeper in the class of 2027.

Connor Fenerty | Hope Grind | 2027

Fenerty is a 6’9 forward who wants to do the dirty work. He’s a defense first guy who prides himself on protecting the paint. He’s a good rebounder on both ends of the floor. On the offensive end he’s a good screen setter who can stretch the floor at times.

Yehor Koshelev | OBG Elite | 2028

Koshelev may have been the best shot blocker on the floor this weekend. He’s a mobile 6’11 big man who is really spry on his feet. He has the making of your prototypical run and jump big with good hands and better feet. He has great timing and awareness as a weak side shot blocker.

Eugene Hall | Florida Blaze | 2027

Hall looks like he’s inching closer to 6’10 than 6’8 these days. He’s a spring loaded pogo stick with great timing on putback dunks. Hall is a game changer on both ends of the floor when it comes to play around the rim. He’s a good athlete who runs the floor, spaces it vertically, and hits outside shots when he has space.
