BRYAN, Texas – The Adidas 3SSB Circuit Session 1 took place at the Legends Center in the heart of Texas. This circuit focuses on quality teams, matchups, and individual players at every level. It features the top player in the nation, Kaleena Smith of Seven Days Basketball, while also showcasing several potential All-Americans among the younger ranks. In this edition, we look at a selection of prospects from the 17U division that added to their story in a significant way.

Eve Long – Southwest Select – 2027

Long erupted for a 52-point game in the final game of the weekend. She did it in remarkably efficient fashion, connecting on 18-of-29 shots from the field and 15-of-16 from the foul line. This outing ensured she would finish as the top scorer of the weekend with a 27-point-per-game average. Standing 6-foot-3, she is an ideal modern hybrid forward who can defend multiple positions on the perimeter and in the paint. She presents an offensive mismatch, able to finish in traffic or score from the perimeter with jumpers and off-the-dribble attacks. Long is far from a secret in grassroots basketball. A gold medalist with USA Basketball’s U16 National Team and a consensus top-ten prospect nationally, she has narrowed her recruiting list to five schools: Notre Dame, Duke, UCLA, UConn, and Kansas.

Nation Williams – Utah Lady Prospects – 2027

Williams enters this spring as a Top-20 prospect nationally and as one of the most sought-after power forwards among elite college programs. She joined the aforementioned Long on the U16 National Team that brought home gold last year. It is hard to imagine she could do much to improve her profile at this circuit stop, but there is an argument to be made that she did precisely that. She finished averaging a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Perhaps most impressive was her all-around defensive presence. There are few forwards who can lock up the glass in the paint while also darting into passing lanes to disrupt the offense on the perimeter. Williams solidified her reputation as an elite two-way prospect.

Michaela Halton – Hardwood Nation – 2027

Halton should no longer remain under the radar following her Session 1 performance. She established herself as one of the premier scorers, turning in an 18.8-point-per-game average. More than her numbers, she passes the eye test as an elite guard. She is quick and powerful with the ball in her hands. Defenders are often at a disadvantage, unable to contain her quick feet or challenge her strength. The 5-foot-9 guard is suited as either a lead initiator in the half court or as an off-ball hunter of shots from the wing.

Santana Sabus - Hardwood Elite -2027

There is little available on the story of Sabus’ development in recent years, but there are breadcrumbs to note. She reportedly received an offer from UC-San Diego dating back to a previous coaching staff. According to online records, she was also a part of the Luxembourg U16 National Team last summer. The 5-foot-9 guard ought to have more written about her in the near future after turning in one of the best weekends at Session 1. She averaged close to 18 points and five rebounds per game. We noted her energy and constant willingness to be around the ball during a matchup versus Texas Lonestar, where she scored 20 points, including 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. She is also a solid passer who keeps her head up in traffic. She projects as a two-guard at the collegiate level who has the size and athleticism to defend either backcourt spot. However, her ball skills and instincts will allow her to spotlight at the point guard position as well.
