Layla Adams – Archer (GA) – 2027
Adams is a trending name in the state of Georgia. The 6-foot-5 post player has the size and skills necessary to compete at a high level. We watched her impact the game in the lane as a defender, altering shots and rebounding. She also proved she can handle the ball while facing the basket at the top of the key. She is far from a finished product on the court, but her upside will have college coaches anxious to evaluate.
Journey Bryant – Midtown (GA) – 2027
Bryant put herself on the map as one of the event’s top shooters on Saturday evening. She scored 17 points in Midtown’s matchup versus Luella. She drained a pair of 3-pointers in this game as well as a handful of midrange jumpers. Bryant’s 5-foot-9 athletic frame gives her an added dimension to impact the game. Look for Bryant to trend upward in the ranks as a top guard in the state of Georgia.
Aaliyah Figueroa – Bishop Moore (FL) – 2027
Coach Ricky Claitt’s team is young and talented. Figueroa fits well within the Hornets system. The 5-foot-11 wing-forward stretches the floor with her jumper while also using her size to defend and rebound along the front line. We watched her connect on three 3-pointers and score 15 points in her team’s win over North Oconee.
Namia Foster – Luella (GA) – 2027
Foster’s name ought to be listed on every Southeast recruiting list this upcoming spring. She is a 6-foot-3 post with strong shoulders and quick feet. She scored 15 points in a win over Midtown on Saturday evening. She proved that she could move opponents out of her way to gain angles to score and rebound. If she adds a bit of consistency at the free throw line, she will become one of Georgia’s most reliable interior scorers.
Lindsey Kopacek – Starr’s Mill (GA) – 2027
The Panthers ran away with an impressive win over Baldwin High School in the final game set on Saturday evening. Kopacek anchored the win for coach Brandon Cerezola with timely defense. She blocked multiple shots in the paint and started the break with strong rebounds in traffic. The 6-foot-2 power forward is a proven paint scorer and showed range on her jumper in this evaluation. Expect to hear more from Kopacek in upcoming months.
Janiyah Weaver – Morrow (GA) – 2027
There were several talented front-line players at this event. However, Weaver might have the highest athletic ceiling of all who competed during this weekend. Her potential is highlighted by her ability to defend all over the court. She attacked ball handlers as the primary trapper in the open court. Her quick lateral movements along with her elite-level length make her a prospect that defensive minded coaches would love to utilize. Offensively, she works both in the middle third of the court as a play finisher while also being able to face up from the corner as a driver.
Olivia Yancey – NC GBB (NC) – 2027
Yancey is a guard who is gaining attention in the Tar Heel State. She measures at 5-foot-8, which gives her the size to see over the defense as a lead handler. She also brings good speed as a defender and as a ball handler. She turned in a highlight moment of the tournament when she scored eight points in the final 90 seconds when her team trailed by ten. She also delivered the game-winning assist. Yancey finished with 24 points, 12 steals, and five assists in the come from behind victory.
