Routinely, top college programs fly in from across the country to recruit players from the Deep South. Here’s a first look at the elite seniors from Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee.
Kate Harpring – Marist High School (Atlanta, GA) | North Carolina COMMIT
Harpring is a consensus top-five national prospect. The 5-foot-10 combo guard brings a fierce competitive edge. A must-watch for Atlanta-area fans, she embodies the modern game as a floor-stretcher and playmaking lead guard.

Melissa Odom – Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) | Florida State COMMIT
Odom leapfrogged a dozen prospects to crack the top 25 in ESPN’s latest rankings, a well-deserved rise. A two-sport star (softball) for much of high school, she focused solely on basketball this summer and commanded attention from media and coaches. The 6-foot-2 forward played like a wing with FBC United, defending multiple positions inside and out. Add her developing range and growing confidence as a ball-handler, and Odom’s ceiling remains sky-high.
GiGi Battle – DME Academy (Daytona Beach, FL) | Indiana COMMIT
Shooting is more valuable than ever—and Battle was one of the most coveted guards nationally because of it. She proved a consistent marksman from deep with Central Florida Elite on the Adidas Circuit. But her game goes beyond the 3: she can put the ball on the floor and score. With ideal size and versatility, she’s a perfect fit for Teri Moren’s system in Bloomington.

Chikae Desdunes – DME Academy (Daytona Beach, FL) | Penn State COMMIT
We loved watching Desdunes compete with Cy Fair Elite this spring. The aggressive wing thrives in traffic and isn’t afraid to mix it up. She showed emerging shooting range to complement her physical style. The New Orleans native brings grit and flair to the floor.
Natalya Hodge – Bearden High School (Knoxville, TN) | Missouri COMMIT
Hodge was one of the top scorers on the EYBL circuit, averaging 17 points per game with Kentucky Premier. The 5-foot-7 combo guard plays in perpetual attack mode, relentlessly driving to the rim while showcasing a silky jumper. She’s primed for a standout senior season.
