“The Fit”

The most attractive quality about Wilkins is that he possesses a number of skills that could instantly translate to the next level.  However, what Coach Tony Bennett could be most interested in taking advantage of is Wilkins ability to guard several positions on the floor.  Bennett is noted a stickler on the defensive end, as his Cavaliers have ranked near the top of the country in scoring defense in his five years in Charlottesville.  Wilkins could earn early playing time by simply being a dependable defender and rebounder for Bennett.  Wilkins could be an even more intriguing offensive weapon as he has the ability to stretch to defense to the arc while also being a threat to finish at the rim.  His athleticism and skill make him a tough cover for many forwards, because he is an inside-outside threat that puts pressure on the defense.  Wilkins will team up with two other Georgia natives, former teammate at GACS Malcom Brogden and Evan Nolte from Milton High School.  It will be interesting to see how Wilkins meshes for the Cavaliers in years to come.
