Editor’s Note: “College Fit” is a regular piece designed to give readers in depth insight on how 2014 commitments will fit in at the college of their choice.
Name: Phil Cofer
Hometown: Fayetteville, Ga.
Height: 6’8″
Committed College: University of Tennessee
Position: PF
Specialty: Hustle, energy, athleticism on the glass
“The Fit”
Cofer has an opportunity to step into a situation where he could earn as much playing time as he can handle his freshman year. Coach Cuonzo Martin’s depth at the forward and post position will be thin next season. Cofer will have to show that his offensive skill set is ready for major minutes within the Southeastern Conference. There is little question that his athleticism will allow him to be a presence on the defensive end and on the glass. The consistency on his jumper could determine how many minutes he logs in Knoxville.
