Nike EYBL Boo Williams Evaluation: Allonzo Trier

It is not even a question who the most consistent scorer has been on the EYBL Circuit this spring. Currently averaging 29.4 points per game, Allonzo Trier of Seattle, Wash., is putting points up at a remarkable rate. Standing at 6-foot-5, Trier has a lethal combination of size and body control that allows him to put up points in bunches. While the west coast native is a great athlete, what allows him to score the way he does is high level skill set. He uses an array of jab steps and spin moves to evade defenders and get clean looks at the bucket. Case in point with his Athlete First match-up with Team Texas Elite, defenders worked hard to limit his looks but still shot an impressive 9-15 from the field and finish with a game high 30 points. Simply stated, Trier is always in attack mode and sports great touch in the kill zone. He embodies the classic scorers’ mentality that many would want to see from the shooting guard position.

Do not count on Trier making a college choice any time soon as he said recently that he will more than likely wait until next spring to make his decision. Although he has not made a list of colleges, those that are mentioned most often are Arizona, Baylor, Connecticut, Georgetown, Kansas, Louisville, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
