The final weekend of March provided a better look at how the circuit will shape up this spring. We were introduced to the returning 17U champs, Team Person, who brought two teams to the division. We also got a new glimpse at familiar faces such as Team EYA, Triangle Offense Elite, Devin Butts Elite, and Georgia Fire. We will be tracking the progress of teams and individual performers here on this site each week. Stick with us as we tell the story.

17U

Team EYA made the biggest splash with a 4-0 record over the weekend while defeating Team 4:44 Athletics in a premier game. However, Chuck Person’s White squad looks stacked once again. Sewer South should remain as one of the favorites after turning in a 3-1 record, with their only loss coming in a 2-point defeat by Triangle Offense Elite, who also went 3-1. GAA, Devin Butts Elite Culpepper, and the Georgia Canes also finished the weekend with a 3-1 record.

  • Team Person White went 4-0 in their opening weekend. Vince Well is noted as the top performer. Ethan Anderson played well and should gain attention in future showings.

  • Gold Elite delivered a comeback win against Team Person Red. Fortune Hicks was a standout performer all weekend. Keep an eye on Martaiveis Rice and his trending play.

  • GAA 17U recorded a 3-1 record. Their defense was the story of the weekend. They held their opponents below their average all weekend. Keep Zair Grace’s name in mind this spring.

  • Georgia Fire went 3-1 over the weekend. Daniel Collins and Xavier Walker were consistent performers throughout the tournament.

  • Griffin Grasshoppers introduced themselves with a 2-2 record. Guard Keelan Day emerged as a top prospect, averaging more than 18 points on the weekend. Coach Duck’s crew is deep with talent. Remember the names LeSon Nelson, Charles Lewis, Nick High, and Gabriel Knecht.

  • HWPO are proving themselves to be a tough out on the circuit this year. They handed Only1Elite their only loss on the weekend. Lead guard Brandon Bell averaged close to 15 ppg while shooting over 50% from the field and more than 40% from 3-point range. He contributes across the stat sheet, averaging better than four assists and rebounds while swiping three steals per game. Cam Gaines is a high-energy player who uses his length and athleticism to make defensive plays. He is a formidable offensive player too. He averaged over 12 points per game last weekend while shooting 35% from distance to keep the defense honest.

  • Atlanta Standard competed well versus top competition. Although they lost three games, those games were all close, within an average of 4 points. Class of 2028 Mike Lynch, a 6-7 wing, continues to play tough, delivering a double-double (19p, 13r) versus Triangle Offense Elite. Class of 2027 Dave Cannon averaged 12 points and 4.5 assists while only committing one turnover at the point guard position.

  • Devin Butts Elite Culpepper had a solid showing with a 3-1 record over the weekend. Rowan Woodrich continues his trajectory as a top player out of the Middle Georgia area.

  • Team Person Red noted Ayden Thon as the leader for the weekend. Jamai Mcclure is a player who is flying under the radar.

  • Thunder Select showed improvement this weekend with a pair of victories. Jakez Baldwin sets the tone with his ball handling. Class of 2027 guard Fernando George III is earning his reputation as one of the better perimeter defenders on the circuit.

  • Only1Elite is finding its stride this spring. They finished 2-2 while still missing key players on the roster. Essien Lockleer continues to be the go-to player, but Maki Mitchell is proving he belongs in the conversation after his 32-point outburst on Sunday afternoon.

16U

Devin Butts Elite Foston locked in a 4-0 record for the weekend. The Georgia Stunners delivered a 3-1 record and made themselves known as contenders. Sewer South remains a favorite in this division with one of the toughest backcourts on the circuit. Their lone loss was to the Georgia Stars 2029 EYBL group by two points. HWPO, PNP, and Team EYA also delivered 3-1 records.

  • Georgia Stunners went 3-1 on the strength of Naeem McKanney, Travell Blake, and Kaden Hibbert.

  • Devin Butts Elite went 4-0 with Brayden Henry, Zion Dixon, and Najee Reynolds leading the way. TJ Haynes figures to be key for DBE this spring as well.

  • PNP 2029 went 3-1 playing with the 16U bracket. Ashton Burt recorded two double-doubles, and Kamani Hollis is noted as an up-and-coming prospect.

  • HWPO’s 3-1 weekend was led by their point guard, Cameron Blackmon. His decision-making and ball-handling skills always put his team in a position of strength. Shooting guard Ryan Bell’s weekend was highlighted by a 21-point output over a sponsored circuit team. Liam Erawoc is the embodiment of what every coach wants from his players. Coachable and consistent are words to describe his game on both ends of the floor.

15U

Team Person impressed with their 4-0 outing as well as with their talented roster. The Georgia Stunners looked poised to have a good year on the circuit. While AEBL continues to show promise.

He recorded a 22-point game in a win over one of the better teams in the tournament. He was flanked by Micah Joyner (11p, 6a average), Jaydin Galloway (18p in a game), and Jherel Gibson (8p, 5r average).

  • AEBL 2029 went 3-1 over the weekend as one of the stronger teams in 15U. Nolan Bond was the offensive spark for this team. Mason Stallworth should earn more attention in future outings.

  • Team Person went 4-0 with 6-foot-9 forward Devin Melton earning recognition. Jelani Cadette is a player who is working to find his rhythm this spring.

  • HezzyFam was led by Jayden Nelson, who averaged 18 points in four games. Jor’Dyn Holsey continues to elevate as a crafty playmaker as well.

  • Georgia Stunners were led by Ethan Moore to a 3-1 record. Louis Guy and TJ Pigott are other players who are making contributions.
