Coaches from across the OTR Circuit checked in after a competitive Memorial Day weekend of action. Here’s a compiled look at how their teams performed, who stood out, and what they’re excited about moving forward. Programs are listed alphabetically, with multiple teams grouped together under the main program name for easy reading.

Charlotte ACES OTR

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

Charlotte ACES OTR 17U finished a perfect 5-0 and won the championship. Jackson Reed, Landon Johnson, and Jayden Gunby led the way in a dominant weekend for the program.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Jayden Gunby has improved every single weekend this spring. Jackson Reed has been putting up double figures in points and rebounds consistently since Gatlinburg. The team is sharing the ball effectively and their team defense has been a pleasant surprise. Gunby continues to draw heavy recruiting interest, and Jackson was recently named one of the top players in the state by a recruiting service.

Here is what @CoachHemi wrote this weekend about Gundy:

Gunby is getting a lot of love this spring and it’s all deserved. He’s consistent & productive. Footwork, finishes with either hand around the rim. Not afraid of contact. There is a throwback feel to his game that some college coach out there is gonna absolutely love.

Florida Blue Chips

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

Florida Blue Chips 15U went 4-0 against solid competition. Every game presented a different challenge, and the team showed clear growth as a unit. While no single player dominated, park guard Anton Oskarsson (pictured above) helped set the tone as everyone contributed meaningfully.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Giddel Padilla has been the biggest riser this spring. His confidence has continued to grow as a scorer from all three levels, and he’s become a reliable contributor on both ends of the floor. The program will be watching to see how this momentum carries into high school summer ball and their final two OTR events in July.

@KOTRhoops wrote this about Pailla last weekend:

He has a nice all around game. He made a few 3s and had some timely buckets off cuts. Can finish with either hand around the rim (LINK).

Gold Elite OTR

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

Gold Elite OTR 17U went 3-1. MarTaveis Rice (2027, 6’4 SG) led the way with 16 PPG and 3 steals per game, while Zi’on Thomas (2027, 6’5 SG) added 14 PPG and was a constant presence above the rim all weekend.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Tyree Travis (2027, 6’6 forward) has emerged as one of the top rim protectors on the circuit. The team expects July to be a big month — they’ll finally be fully healthy with some added pieces that should push them to another level.

@Davis_McCarn wrote this about Rice:

(Gold Elite OTR / 2027) Martaveis Rice is an efficient shooter from beyond the arc and a quick first step that helps him get to the rim and score (LINK).

HWPO

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

HWPO 16U rolled to a 6-0 record. Cameron Gates stood out with strong defensive activity in pick-and-roll coverage, two in-game dunks, 20 points, 40 rebounds, and over 30 assists for the weekend.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Cameron Gates has been by far the most improved player on the team and a joy to coach. The program is also excited about the recruiting attention on Cam Blackman (pictured above), Khaleb Young, Moses Alls, Alex Alerya, and Gates himself. Coach called Gates one of the most overlooked players on the roster.

@TriHoopsNet had this write about Blackman from last weekend:

5’9 2028 Cameron Blackman (HWPO OTR) is a quick, shifty guard who sets the tone with his defensive pressure. He brings energy at the point of attack, scores it at all three levels, and plays with the confidence needed to control momentum.

OBT OTR 17U

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

OBT OTR 17U finished 2-2, highlighted by a win over Palm Beach Aces OTR. Alex Benitez (video above) was the top player for the team this weekend.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Alex Benitez has been the clear most-improved player, nearly doubling his production from 6 ppg and 5 rebounds to 12.3 ppg and 8 rebounds. On the recruiting side, 2026 6’8 forward Marckency Darius earned a full ride to FNU. Andrew Hernandez continues to stand out as a true leader and riser.

Only1Elite

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

Only1Elite 17U went 0-4 but played short-handed, missing three starters in the first two games and dealing with an injury. Zay Smith was a bright spot, posting double-doubles in all four games: 14p & 13r, 16p & 15r, 11p & 10r, and 10p & 10r. Adrian Thomas and Rydrell Lundy (pictured above) also showed strong individual development.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Zay Smith and Rydrell Lundy have both taken major steps forward this spring. The team expects to look much more complete in July once everyone is healthy and back in the lineup. Scouts need to pay close attention to this group when they’re at full strength.

PSB Tampa

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

PSB Tampa 17U went 1-3 against tough competition. Ayaan Bhadouria led the way with 20 ppg and 7.5 rpg, including a 29-point, 9-rebound performance in their win over Exclusive Hoops NXT. PSB Tampa 16U Robinson also went 1-3 but had several standouts. Adrian Pozo was their most consistent scorer (10-18 points per game), Omar Nicholson (pictured above) dominated the glass and interior (~13.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg), D. Jones had a 5-block game, and Josiah Reid stepped up nicely in their win over Georgia Legacy.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

In the 17U group, Nyjil Lucas has improved tremendously week-to-week and now serves as an elite on-ball defender who controls the tempo. On the 16U side, Eli Ventura has shown the biggest jump with an expanded role (9.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.8 spg). Josiah Reid has also been disruptive, averaging 2.8 steals and chipping in efficient scoring.

@AP_Writess wrote this about Bhadouria last weekend:

Ayaan Bhadouria | PSB | 2027 A true 3 level scoring threat at 6’5. Can play on or off ball. Gets to the line as an on ball creator. Good movement shooter. Feel for game on offense. Positional size. Rebounds really well for position (LINK)

Sunshine Elite

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

Sunshine Elite 17U went 3-1 with Whitfield Bynoe playing well. Their 16U team also went 3-1, led by Jayden Denmark’s high-motor play (13 ppg, 42% from 3pt, plus blocks and steals). The 15U squad split 2-2, with Jeremiah Gordon averaging 17 ppg.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Enzo Fatone (17U) has made major strides defensively and with his overall court awareness, while Zihong Fan (Pictured above) has become a key piece in the offense. Jason Keke (16U) has improved his finishing, shooting, and ability to guard multiple positions. Kendrick Ferrufino (15U) continues to be the heart of the team with strong defensive production, and Junior Fernandez has been knocking down 3-4 threes per game lately. The 16U group finished the month of May at 6-1.

@RossVDG14 wrote this about Enzo Fatone last weekend:

Fatone is an elite sharpshooter who can play on or off the ball at a high level. His ability to contribute for his teammates in transition as well as in the half-court offense. On defense, he was active in the passing gaps, forcing turnovers, and limited the opposition from getting second-chance scoring opportunities (LINK).

Tennessee Panthers Basketball Club 16U OTR

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

Tennessee Panthers 16U went 3-3. Cooper McElroy led the team in nearly every statistical category outside of blocks.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Hocyne Ouedraogo (pictured above) has shown the most improvement this spring. Coach also pointed out Micheal Hornbuckle as an overlooked guard — scrappy, high-motor, and excellent at finding cutters and open teammates.

@TriHoopsNet wrote this on McElroy:

6’4 2028 Cooper McElroy (Tennessee Panthers) is a very intriguing prospect because of how unique his game. He plays with guard-like fluidity, makes smart reads on the move, and has a natural feel for creating advantages. Can create scoring opportunists off the dribble too.

TWU OTR

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

TWU OTR 2027 went 3-1 with Reece Styles averaging 17 points and 7 rebounds. Their 2028 squad went 4-0 in well-rounded fashion, with multiple players reaching double figures most games.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Alex Jeancharles (2027) has been a double-double machine and a major key to their success. Colin Cane (2028) has grown significantly as a point guard, making better reads, controlling tempo, hitting clutch shots, and leading the team in steals. Several other 2028 players earned recognition as overlooked standouts: Jayden Mensah (elite defender), London Callaway (crafty two-way guard), Connor Webb (elite shooter/athlete), Jahari Simmons, Eli Tu, Christian Caldwell, and Camryn Atkins.

@AP_Writess said this about Styles from last weekend:

Reece Styles | @TwuElite | 2027 A 6’6 starch forward with good touch. Has a great frame that can add more mass. Can take mismatches to the post. Can drive from anywhere in the floor. Can hit shots off the drive and off movement. Good defensive rebounder (LINK).

We Jus Hoop

Weekend Performance & Top Players:

We Jus Hoop 15U went 1-2 in a competitive atmosphere against good teams. Nehemiah White led the team in scoring for the weekend.

Most Improved & Additional Notes:

Jovani Spencer (pictured above) has developed into a versatile 1-5 two-way player who creates constant mismatches. The Charlotte-based program brings toughness and grit with several dynamic players to watch. Coach highlighted Josh Cosby, Onyx Paolo, and Emmitt Glidewell as overlooked contributors.

@CoachHemi wrote this about Spencer from last weekend:

’29 wing Jovani Spencer impressed with shot making and his strength in traffic.
