Day one at Carolina Mania brought serious energy, with a number of prospects making strong early statements. From explosive guards creating off the bounce to versatile wings impacting both ends, the talent was on full display. Players stood out in a variety of ways—scoring efficiently, showcasing athleticism, making high-level reads, and simply understanding how to affect winning. It wasn’t just about stats, but presence and impact, and these guys made sure they were felt from the opening tip.

Brendan Hirsch - PSB Dorsey - 2028
A knockdown shooter with a quick, confident trigger from deep who can really stretch the floor. He’s not just a spot-up guy either—he’s capable of scoring at multiple levels, showing comfort pulling up off the dribble and attacking closeouts to get into the mid-range or finish at the rim. His length allows him to get his shot off cleanly over contests, making him tough to bother once he gets into his motion. On the defensive end, Hirsch brings a scrappy, high-motor approach. He competes, gets into passing lanes, and uses his length to disrupt opposing guards and wings. What really stands out is his feel for the game—he plays with a high basketball IQ, consistently making the right reads, spacing the floor properly, and being in the right position on both ends. He’s the type of player who impacts winning without needing the ball every possession.

Braylen Hill - Top Shots UA Grind - 2027
A high-level point guard who controls the game with elite pace and poise, never looking sped up and always playing on his terms. He has a smooth, confident jumper with clean mechanics, and he does a great job getting to his spots off the bounce, whether it’s pulling up in rhythm or forcing defenses to collapse. He’s a constant threat from deep, capable of heating up quickly and knocking down shots at a high clip, which makes him tough to contain in ball screen action. What separates him is his ability to read the floor—he makes high-level decisions, sees plays develop early, and consistently creates easy looks for teammates. Whether it’s hitting shooters in stride or dropping it off to bigs, Hill elevates the offense and makes everyone around him better.

Bryant Dixon - Team Unshakable - 2026
Bryant Dixon had a big-time performance in a statement win over Top Shot UA Grind, pouring in 25 points and doing it at all three levels. He showed the ability to score in a variety of ways—knocking down shots from the perimeter, getting to his spots in the mid-range, and attacking the rim with purpose. Once he puts his head down, he’s tough to keep out of the paint, using strength and body control to finish through contact. What really stood out was his footwork and composure inside. He played off two feet consistently and used head fakes to keep shot blockers off balance, allowing him to finish efficiently in traffic. Dixon doesn’t rush—he stays under control and makes defenders react to him. Performances like this show his value, and he’s the type of player who could end up being a steal for a college program with his production, toughness, and ability to impact the game in multiple ways.

Jayden Mabine - Warriors Life Elite - 2028
Mabine put on an absolute shooting clinic, exploding for 36 points with 9 makes from behind the arc in one of the best shooting performances I’ve seen all spring. From the opening minutes, he established a rhythm and never let it go, showing elite confidence, range, and consistency as a perimeter scorer. He has a lightning-quick release that allows him to get shots off cleanly even with defenders closing hard, and he’s always ready to shoot the moment the ball hits his hands with his eyes already locked on the rim. Mabine is dangerous both as a spot-up threat and in movement situations, consistently punishing defensive breakdowns and late closeouts. He can also create his own looks off the dribble, especially coming off ball screens where he forces defenders who go under to pay immediately, rising up without hesitation and knocking down deep shots. His ability to stretch the floor, shift defensive coverage, and maintain pressure possession after possession made him nearly unguardable in this performance, and it was a clear reminder of just how lethal he can be when he gets going.

Cayden Hill - Team Unshakeable - 2027
Team Unshakable’s Cayden Hill delivered a highly productive performance as a steady low-post presence who consistently impacted winning on both ends of the floor. He scored efficiently around the basket, showing great touch and confidence with a reliable hook shot over his right shoulder that he went to effectively when he established deep position. Hill also moves well without the ball, especially out of the dunker spot, where he consistently found soft spots in the defense and capitalized on easy scoring opportunities, including finishing in transition when given open lanes. His activity on the offensive glass was a major factor as well, as he crashed hard and repeatedly extended possessions for his team, making it difficult for opponents to secure clean rebounds and get out in transition. On top of his interior production, he also showed the ability to step out and stretch the floor from three, adding another layer to his offensive value. Hill’s steady impact and toughness helped anchor a strong second-half run that allowed his team to build and maintain a double-digit lead.
