The depth of talent at the Carolina Memorial Classic was impossible to ignore. From dominant frontcourt presences to explosive guards capable of changing games with pace and shot-making, several more players separated themselves throughout the weekend with consistency and impact. Here are more standouts who continued raising eyebrows at the Carolina Memorial Classic.

Donovin Martin - GA Stunners OTR - 2028

There are not many players who make above-the-rim play look as effortless as Donovin Martin. The 6’4 wing constantly brought energy to the gym with his explosiveness and vertical athleticism. Martin turned open space into highlights all weekend long. Whether leaking out in transition, cutting behind the defense, or elevating for lobs, he consistently found ways to pressure the rim. What makes him especially dangerous is how quickly he gets off the floor. Defenders can be in good position and still end up on the wrong side of a highlight play. His athletic tools alone stand out immediately, but the aggressiveness and confidence he plays with continue making him one of the more exciting 2028 prospects to watch.

Gabriel Torres - Carolina Stars Regional - 2029

Gabriel Torres brings a style of play every coach values because of how hard and intelligently he competes possession after possession. Torres consistently found ways to produce without needing the offense built around him. He ran the floor hard, made smart cuts, rebounded over bigger players, and attacked scoring opportunities with confidence. There is a willingness to his game that stands out. He embraces physicality, battles for loose plays, and constantly finds himself around the action. But that’s not all to his game. He is a true point-guard who operates the floor, and sets up his teammates. Elite decision-making. His activity level and instincts allowed him to impact winning in multiple ways throughout the weekend.

Cordell Nelson - Team Person OTR - 2027

Cordell Nelson continues proving he is far from a traditional big man. At 6’9, Nelson possesses a unique blend of size, mobility, and offensive versatility that creates matchup problems all over the floor. While comfortable operating around the basket, Nelson also showed the ability to stretch the floor and attack defenders downhill. Once he gets momentum moving toward the rim, he becomes extremely difficult to contain. He finishes violently above the rim and plays with an edge that energizes his team. Defensively, his motor stood out just as much. Nelson consistently sprinted the floor, protected the paint, and even tracked down chase-down blocks in transition. His combination of mobility and aggression gives him major upside moving forward.

TJ Pigott - GA Stunners OTR - 2029

TJ Pigott brought toughness and control to the GA Stunners backcourt throughout the weekend. He consistently played with confidence and understood how to create advantages without overcomplicating possessions. Pigott attacked gaps well, played through contact, and kept pressure on defenders with his downhill ability. What stood out most was his composure. He never looked sped up and consistently made solid decisions whether creating for himself or keeping the offense organized. He also called the game with his team down three and only seconds left, pulling up from deep with full confidence and showing zero hesitation in the biggest moment. His blend of strength, pace, and confidence gave the Stunners another reliable offensive piece throughout the event.

Cameron Blackman - HWPO OTR - 2028

Cameron Blackman consistently brought energy every time he stepped on the floor. Despite standing at 5’9, he played much bigger because of his confidence, pace, and defensive intensity. Blackman thrives by applying pressure. He gets into defenders quickly, creates problems at the point of attack, and constantly disrupts rhythm defensively. Offensively, he showed the ability to score at all three levels while using his quickness and handle to create separation. I mean come on I saw him punch a backdoor dunk. Not every other 5’9 guy can do that. His activity level and edge gave HWPO OTR an emotional spark throughout the weekend.

Jayden Gunby - Charlotte Aces - 2027

Even on days when the scoring numbers are not overwhelming, Jayden Gunby still finds ways to control the game with his physicality and interior presence. Gunby anchored the paint defensively, protected the rim, and consistently positioned himself well offensively. Once he becomes aggressive around the basket, he is extremely difficult to stop because of his strength and touch around the rim. He also continued showing the smaller details that impact winning, including setting solid screens, creating space for teammates, and bringing stability to the frontcourt. Gunby’s ability to affect games without needing constant touches continues making him one of the more impactful bigs on the circuit.

Terrance Badio - iHoop Academy HS - 2026

Terrance Badio once again showed why consistency matters so much in grassroots basketball. Every viewing seems to bring the same high-motor, explosive approach that continues making him productive. Badio plays with real force on both ends of the floor. He attacks quickly, pressures defenders with his explosiveness, and competes with a gritty edge that coaches appreciate. What makes him especially valuable is that his effort level never changes. Whether defending, attacking downhill, or competing for loose balls, he constantly brings intensity. He also feels like the type of late pickup that could become a steal for a college program. His toughness, athleticism, and work ethic continue translating every time out, and programs should be investing now before more eyes fully catch on.
