Basketball is only as good as the generation that follows the next. As the sunsets on a talented 2026 class were starting to look for the next big underclass men. This article has the name of five players who impressed from the 2028, 2029, and 2030 classes.

Jermaine Rhome - Powerhouse Bulls - 2029

Rhome played up two age groups and fit in just fine. He’s already 6-foot-5 with long arms, a solid shooting stroke, and willingness to make defensive plays. He left the last game of the day with 5 blocks showing off his timing, length, and feel for the game. Rhome is a very promising wing out of Eustis high school.

Troy Philip - Harris Athletics - 2030

Phillip spent his weekend playing 17U as a hulking 6-foot-8 eighth grader. By size alone he stood out from older stronger bigs. He’s young on the floor but there’s a comfortability with him being on the floor. He’s growing as a post scorer and already has the frame and feet to make moves against older guys. He’s one of the guys who make players think twice about coming into the lane.

Ethan Gordon - Flagler United - 2028

Gordon showed off a diverse skillset while playing up an age division. The 2028 WF flashed his handle in transition, created and-1 opportunities through physical play in the paint, and nearly grabbed double digit rebounds. Gordon’s confidence grows with each week. He bounced between multiple teams this weekend showing he has the skills to fit multiple roles.

Obi Edeoga - SWFL - 2028

Edeoga has the size, strength, and mobility needed to thrive as an undersized big or forward. He has pace to his game and knows how to use his frame to dislodge defenders. He’s a good more post option with quick feet and a strong base. Played with the 17U team all weekend.

Kymany Bango - Sunshine Elite - 2029

The future is bright for one of the tallest freshmen Florida has in its freshman class. He’s grown a lot as a basketball player since watching him play in October. Bango grabbed boards and was much more comfortable creating space with his shoulders when he’s near the rim. He moves much better on the court, he’s slimmed down a bit, and has a better feel for the game. As he gets in better shape and strengthens his frame his production will follow.
