LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga, — The Southern Hoops Report Spring Showcase is the preeminent transitional event between high school and travel ball in the southeast. An opportunity for players to build momentum ahead of the spring, an opportunity to be seen by scouting services and college coaches, this camp perennially delivers on giving players a spring platform to showcase their strengths.
With all of the talent in the building, here are five more of the standouts of the day:
RELATED: SH Report Spring Showcase standouts
Kaiden Long - East Forsyth - 2027: With a few good candidates in attendance, Long may have been the best big man on Sunday. At 6-foot-8, Long had an imposing presence in the paint. He was outstanding around the basket with good, patient footwork and consistent finishing with good touch. He looks the part of a forward who’ll be talked about plenty this spring.
Dau Yak - Genesis Christian Academy - 2028: Another impressive forward prospect, Yak has a big frame and developable skillset. On Sunday, he showed more of a face-up game, but he has the size to be a back-to-the-basket force as well. Yak can grab and go off rebounds. He looked comfortable enough as a handler to reliably put the ball on the deck. He also hit shots throughout the afternoon. It’ll be interesting to see where his game is at the end of the summer. He has plenty of promise.
Steffan Jacques - Mill Creek - 2028: Jaques is a name to remember over the next couple of years. He has a chance to open some eyes this spring. He already garnered praise this weekend. At 6-foot-5, Jacques has solid perimeter size to go along with a clean looking jumper. He had the look of a shooter to monitor, but he also showed some ambidexterity at the rim with a lefty finish or two.
Michael Akinrinmade - North Forsyth - 2026: It was an eye-opening day from Akinrinmade. A strong, physical forward, he shined via a bit of bully ball around the basket. When we was active, it was tough to compete with him. Whether rebounding or muscling points on the board, Akinrinmade caught the eyes of evaluators in the gym.
Will Ocran - Milton - 2026: Ocran is an available senior who coaches should check back in on. He’s had a great 2026, including a good showing over the weekend. He’s a 6-foot-5 guard who can knock down shots from three, help out on the glass, generally provide versatility.
