The Florida Pre live event allowed some of Florida’s best teams square off this weekend. With that much talent on the floor it felt like an all star game at times. This article will be filled with 17U and 16U standouts form this weekend.

Terrell James - Showtime Ballers - 2026

James is a lead guard that operates the pick and roll to perfection. It doesn't matter when the screen is coming, you have to be aware of James at all times. He shots really well off the dribble in the midrange and behind the three point line. He’s a good passer who finds the angles to get the ball around long defenders while placing the ball in places his bigs can catch the ball. He’s a high IQ guard that can get guys involved, keep the defense honest with his jumper, and makes big plays.

Ibrahim Basima - Showtime Ballers - 2026

Basima is a talented 6’8 wing prospect. He spent much of the when’s going from wing to forward while staying productive in both positions. He’s a good cutter who can score at the rim through contact. He can take defenders off the dribble thanks to his quickness. He’s competitive on the defensive end.

Mateus Chiebuka - Showtime Ballers - 2028

Chiebuka is a 6’11 big with a feel for rolling to the basket. Showtime operated out of double screen where Chiebuka showcased his length, hands, and ability to finish at the rim. He’s a talented front court player who is still figuring out the game but has next level measurements. He flashed an ability to cover a ton of ground with a single dribble. He’s an effective paint defender with long arms and solid timing. Chiebuka is a willing shooter with solid mechanics for someone easing into spacing the floor.

Antonio Baymon - Showtime Ballers - 2028

Baymon was one of the best jump shot scorers in the gym this weekend. He scored on opponents almost every time they went under the screen. He can get hot in a hurry and it changes his and his teammates’ energy. He can be your lead guard who has a score first mindset and as he draws attention everyone else benefits. He’s not a selfish scorer. Once he feels the pressure he has the passing acumen to find the open man. A very competitive athlete who can hold his own on defense and score against contact on drives to the basket.

Michael Broxton - Team Speights - 2026

If you’re looking for a tough mobile big man, look no further. At 6’10 Broxton picked up offers to play wide receiver and you can see it in the way he catches the ball and runs the floor. Broxton is more of a play finisher who can roll to the basketball, rebound his area, and set strong screens. He’s also a good passer out of the high post or from the top of the key.

Arik Ring - Team Speights - 2028

Ring is nearly 7-foot with a pterodactyl-like wingspan. He finishes everything above the rim while flashing a jumper out to the three point line. He’s a mobile rim runner for someone with his physical tools at an early age. He’s a good rim protector and as he gold out his frame will become an even better rebounder.

Chase Williams - Above Academy Blue - 2028

When we’re talking big guards with bright futures we have to push Chase Williams closer to the top of that list. He’s a 6’5 point guard who’s found his offensive rhythm. He’s a crafty scorer at the rim who knows how to use his body to protect the ball from shot blockers. Williams has a frame built for the post with some of the lightest feet you could ask for in that situation. He’s a next level passer especially in transition where he’s always looking to start the offense early. He’s a versatile defender who can contain ball handlers and much taller opponents with his size and strong base. Williams was incredibly efficient behind the three point line whether it was off the dribble or the catch.
