Sunday of the On the Radar Summer Jam was an action packed, high intensity day that showcased some high level hoops. Teams brought their best and competed at a super high level, with every possession feeling meaningful as players battled through tight games and physical matchups. Multiple double digit come backs provided excitement and intensity in the gym. Several individuals stepped up in big moments, showing poise under pressure and the ability to make winning plays when it mattered most.

Gavin Reed - Team Gold Coast - 2027

Gavin Reed is a pass first point guard who plays with confidence and great pace. Super quick and efficient in the lane, finishing with either hand, and has a smooth pull-up midrange jumper. Operates well out of the pick-and-roll, consistently making reads and finding shooters. Defensively, he applies full court pressure and makes guards uncomfortable. Can also knock it down from deep, making him a high-IQ, well rounded guard with serious college level impact. He also shows great control in late clock situations, rarely speeding himself up even when pressure is applied. His poise and ability to dictate tempo allow him to consistently keep his team organized and in rhythm on both ends of the floor. You could make an argument that he was the most dominant guy in the gym on Sunday.

Kurston Curry - Triangle Offense Elite - 2027

Curry had quite the morning, making a strong impact on the game from start to finish. Curry is a quick, confident guard who creates offense at a high level, highlighted by a smooth step-back jumper and the ability to generate separation off the dribble. He can get hot from deep and stretch the floor, which consistently opens up driving lanes for himself and his teammates. He connected on five makes from beyond the arc, providing a major scoring boost and momentum swing for his team. On the defensive end, he brought strong effort as well, picking up full court and making multiple hustle plays, including 3rd and 4th effort recoveries in help situations. He finished with 26 points, backing up a highly productive and well-rounded performance.

Asa Montgomery - AOT EYCL - 2027

A name already popular as a known 4 star Montgomery put on a show with 29 points, including 7 made threes from beyond the arc. A true catch and shoot threat, he punishes defenses that lose track of him on the perimeter and can heat up quickly from long range. What stood out just as much was his ability to finish at the rim; he's not just a shooter. If you’re late rotating or step into his path, he’s fully capable of rising up and throwing it down emphatically in traffic. Beyond the production, the intangibles were just as impressive. Asa carries himself the right way on and off the court, plays with maturity, and comes from a strong support system. That combination of skill, shot making, and character is why Power 4 programs are going to be heavily involved moving forward.

Wesley Hilldale - Garner Road 3SSB - 2027

Hilldale is a pure catch and shoot specialist with a no dip release, one of the cleanest shooters seen all day. He provides critical floor spacing for a team that thrives attacking the rim, forcing defenses to stay honest on the perimeter and punish any help defense. Also holds his own defensively with a strong build and the ability to stay in front of his matchup, competing consistently on that end. He finished with 21 points and 4 made threes, giving his team a reliable perimeter scoring presence throughout the game. His ability to stay ready at all times and knock down shots in rhythm makes him a constant threat off the ball. As a result, he remains a valuable floor spacer who can change the geometry of the offense without needing touches to impact the game.

Cordell Nelson - Team Person - 2027

Nelson is a skilled post player with good touch around the rim and the ability to step out and stretch the floor with a consistent three-point shot. He’s an athletic big who runs the floor well in transition and consistently puts pressure on defenses by getting down the court early for easy finishes above the rim. Shows a physical presence inside, including the ability to drop-step and dunk on defenders when he has space or catches a favorable matchup, making him a tough cover in the paint. His touch allows him to score through contact and finish in tight windows around the basket. He also brings value as a floor spacer, forcing opposing bigs to leave the paint and defend him on the perimeter. Overall, his versatility gives him the ability to impact the game from multiple areas on the floor and create mismatches offensively.

Byron Lee - Team Smash OTR - 2027

Lee is a long, athletic wing/forward with a strong frame and great wingspan who can push the pace in transition off the dribble and create early offense. He competes hard defensively, showing the ability to sit down, move his feet, and guard quicker perimeter players without giving up space. He also brings a polished post game with soft hands, consistently finishing plays on passes delivered in his area and showing comfort scoring through contact inside. His length allows him to impact plays as a help defender, contesting shots and disrupting passing lanes. In the open floor, he uses his athleticism well to turn defense into offense and finish above the rim when given a runway. Overall, his versatility on both ends makes him a valuable two way piece who can impact the game in multiple ways.
